About Tegen Jewellery

Hi, I’m Tegen, the designer, maker … and everything else behind the Tegen Jewellery brand.

Based in Cornwall UK but with a lust for seeing and exploring the world, I have been making jewellery since 2002. After completing various courses in silver smithing, jewellery design, tool making and stone setting alongside full time jobs I decided to take a half leap in to part time employment and part time self employment, building up my workshop and building up my own company stage by stage.

The name Tegen Jewellery was almost a given (thanks to my parents) as ‘Tegen’ is a Cornish girls name meaning ‘Pretty Little Thing’ which was perfect for relating to jewellery and my love of creating pretty little things that make people smile.

I specialise in unique pieces using a variety of hand picked gem stones but also produce ranges of stock that is spread between my own website and my lovely stockists.

My work is my passion and I feel very lucky to have a job that I love and have my custom built workshop at the bottom of my garden.

My supply chain is very important to me, I was lucky enough to visit the Tuscon gem show a few years back and made a lot of my supplier connections face to face there, meeting people in person that are going to be suppling gem stones to me was great as I was able to connect with like minded reliable and trusted suppliers in an industry which is not known for its ethics. There is a lot to learn and a lot of research to do before buying gem stones and I believe that if you want to be in this industry it is our duty to do this research and source responsibly, ask the awkward questions and only buy from suppliers that can comfortably and confidently provide the answers you request.

Always learning, always growing and searching, Inspired by all things sea related, the stones I source and tribal jewellery. Tegen Jewellery is designed and crafted with dedication, experience and finesse using natural gem stones, this means that each piece is made with love and completely unique!

I am also proud to be registered with the London Assay Office and send all items of the legal weight to be Hallmarked with the traditional UK Hallmarks and my own makers mark, if you would like to learn more about the hallmark and the UK laws around selling precious metal items  Have written a blog post about it HERE or you can visit the Assay Office Official website HERE.
