About Tegen Jewellery

A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Tegen, the designer, maker … and everything else behind the Tegen Jewellery brand.

Based in Cornwall UK but with a lust for seeing and exploring the world. I have been making jewellery since 2002. Jewellery has always been an interest and a passion of mine since I was a child, After completing a degree in Silversmithing and multiple evening and weekend courses in jewellery design, tool making and stone setting I worked full time jobs but doing bits of jewellery on the side gradually gaining  knowledge, perfecting my skill base, and building up my own company, branding and workshop.

My Inspiration

I take my inspiration from many things around me, having grown up in Cornwall it is hard not to be inspired by the sea and nature but my true “jewellery” inspiration comes from tribal, navajo and ethnic styles of jewellery from India, Native American, Roman and Ancient Egyptians. The Stones used, the stacking arrangements and the detail in the metal work just excites me.

Gem stones are another huge passion of mine, the fact that nature creates these most beautiful little treasures under our feet blows my mind! A lot of my pieces are designed around the stones, I love organic shapes and a when a stone is cut to make the most of that particular stone not to be any specific or generic shape, which in turn makes for more unique pieces of jewellery.

Have Any Questions?

Take a look through my most frequently asked questions to answer any questions you may have. Use the button below to view the entire list.

I have a select group of suppliers located all over the world, I only work with suppliers that can prove to me the origins of the gem stones to ensure the I am buying ethically sourced stones.
I try to ship website orders within 48 hours, if an item is on back order (made to order) it can take up to 2 weeks but this should be stated on the individual product page. Bespoke orders need a minimum of 2 weeks more often longer but this is dependant on the design and each time scale is quoted along with the cost.

The best way to enquire about a bespoke piece of jewellery is to use the contact form in the “Bespoke” section of the website, here I have a few key points that need to be taken in to consideration, the more information you can give me on what you are looking for initially the faster I can get you a quote a design. I do ask that you do not contact me via social media DM’s for bespoke pieces as I cannot track the messages in these inboxes or attach the necessary documents to progress the order through design stage.

Just me! well I have Josh who is freelance who looks after my website and a freelance accountant who does my year end accounts. I do use freelance photographers for locations shoots but other than that everything else, designing, making, social media, photography, emails, accounts, quoting, sourcing materials, admin, etc. is done by myself, I allocate time for each aspect of the business each week (I love a list and a diary plan) so sometimes I may not respond to an email or enquiry straight away as it may be bench day or photography day but I will get back to you as soon as I can.
