The Year Of You – Volume 2 – February

February friends, it is your time to shine. You birth month brings beautiful things, the first sign of spring, sun-gold daffodils and most importantly, Amethyst!

Beautiful Amethyst, a stone revered across centuries and cultures, has healing properties linked with the crown chakra. Clearing minds of negative thoughts, stress and anxieties. Whether set in silver or gold, worn around necks, on fingers, or simply on its own as a stone, amethyst is a stone that keeps its beauty no matter what form it is in. February rounds out Aquarius season and leads us into the hour of Pisces. While an Aquarian can appreciate an Amethyst like the rest of us, Pisces babies will resonate particularly with their birthstone, as it is their Zodiac stone too.

For those of you looking to sway away from the traditional, as we love to do here at Tegen Jewellery, then bloodstone may well be your answer. Bloodstone was known in the Ancient World as one of the most beautiful Jasper – a deep dark green with splashes of red. Known as ‘Heliotrope’, the Sun Stone, Bloodstones was used for its protective, passionate and courageous properties. Worn as amulets in battles of old, as a talisman of good health and long life, Bloodstone has always been known to have properties both mystical and magical. The Sunstone is a perfect match for our February babies.

Bloodstone is an excellent blood cleanser and a powerful healing stone. It heightens intuition and increases creativity. It is grounding and protecting. Bloodstone draws off negative environmental energy, helping to overcome influences such as geopathic or electromagnetic stress.

It is the month of love, after all, and Valentine’s Day is calling around the corner. There is nothing we love more than to be unique and express our true selves. When done whole-heartedly, there is nothing more authentic as love, in all its forms.

This Valentine’s, we invite you to step outside of the heart-shaped red glittery box, and into ideas of your own. Why not get in touch to create a  jewellery gift unique as your love. For those of you like us, with a passion unrequited for gemstones, you will know there are individual stones for each day of the week and there is nothing more special than to make a gift unique; it is the thought that counts after all.
